Family Resources Community Action (FRCA) located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, has signed on as the first Good News Garage transMISSIONs ally in the Ocean State. As a transMISSIONs ally, Family Resources Community Action will now accept car donations to advance its charitable mission.

The transMISSIONs program empowers FRCA to accept vehicle donations from supporters in an efficient and transparent manner. Being a transMISSIONs ally insures all aspects of the vehicle donations process - including intake, pickup, evaluation, tax paperwork and more - will be handled by Good News Garage.

All vehicle donations to Family Resources Community Action will directly benefit the organization. Vehicles evaluated and determined to be appropriate for a family in need to go to a client of FRCA. Vehicles that are not appropriate for a family will still benefit the agency through sale proceeds. A Woonsocket family served by FRCA received one of the first cars available in Rhode Island from Good News Garage.

The mission of Family Resources Community Action is to strengthen families and individuals through social services, education and economic opportunity while respecting the dignity of the people they serve. In honoring both the mission of FRCA and the mission of GNG, the two agencies will continue to cultivate a bond through the transMISSIONs program to provide safe and reliable transportation options to the residents of Rhode Island.
