Ready To Go

Ready To Go is a transportation program for individuals and families in Vermont. Much of Vermont is rural and most communities are not served by public transportation, which makes it all but impossible for families without a car to get to work, job training programs and childcare.

Ready To Go drivers use donated Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler minivans and schedule rides for clients to access essential life activities, including jobs, training and childcare. Ready To Go provides more than 30,000 rides annually across the state of Vermont and works in partnership with the Vermont Department for Children and Families, Economic Services Division to provide this service.

Ready To Go is only available to people referred to Good News Garage by either the State of Vermont or by businesses and organizations that contract with Good News Garage. If you are receiving Reach Up assistance, please contact your caseworker or the State of Vermont Department of Economic Services for more information about Ready to Go.

Good News Garage is always seeking more donated minivans to use in the program! If a donor's van is used by Ready To Go, the donor may deduct the 'fair market' value of the donated van on their taxes. If you have a Dodge, Plymouth, or Chrysler minivan to donate, you may submit your donation online or call toll-free, 877.GIVE.AUTO (448.3288).

If your nonprofit organization or government agency would like to work with Good News Garage's Ready To Go transportation service, please contact Paul Boone, program manager, or call toll-free 877.768.9950 extension 11.
