What is transMISSIONs?
transMISSIONs is an innovative program helping nonprofit agencies accept car donations from supporters. As the name transMISSIONs implies, the goal of the program is to advance the charitable missions of both Good News Garage as well as our alliance members.
Who is eligible to become a transMISSIONs alliance member?
transMISSIONs is available to 501(c)(3) organizations located in Southern New England who wish to realize a new revenue stream through vehicle donation. As a transMISSIONs alliance member, Good News Garage will handle all vehicle donations to your organization, including: intake, pick-up, evaluation, repairs, disposition, required receipts and tax paperwork.
How do vehicle donations result in added revenue for my agency?
Good News Garage compensates our nonprofit alliance members from a significant portion of the cash realized when the vehicles are either auctioned, sold for salvage value or retained by Good News Garage. GNG repairs the vehicles we retain to assist economically disadvantaged clients. For those vehicles which Good News Garage uses to fulfill our mission, GNG will compensate our alliance members for the value of the vehicle based on third party evidence of vehicle sales in the New England auction market. transMISSIONs alliance members receive a standard pre-determined percentage after towing and auction fees are subtracted. No additional expenses are deducted from the alliance members' share of revenue.
How do my supporters learn about transMISSIONs and how to donate a vehicle?
To ensure success of the program and a new or enhanced stream of revenue for your organization, it is vital that your supporters are aware of the program and how to donate. Therefore, members of the alliance are required to publicize their vehicle donation program and contact information on how to donate to supporters through their website, newsletters, annual report and other communication media. Good News Garage will supply templates and support to assist with your communication initiatives.

transMISSIONs is a program founded in transparency, professionalism and equitability. Allies can be assured each and every vehicle donated in their name will result in a positive and honest experience for both them and their donors. Good News Garage will honor vehicle donors with the utmost level of respect and appreciation. Likewise, GNG will honor alliance members by providing true transparency in all reporting related to donations. All vehicle donation splits will be equitable and fair to both Good News Garage and our allies.
