Many of you have been following the story over the years of the vintage 1979 MGB that was donated to Good News Garage and fully restored by Hemmings Sports and Exotic Cars.
In August, the MGB was auctioned as a fundraiser for Good News Garage at the New England Auto Auction at Owls Head Transportation Museum and sold for $13,500. Good News Garage also sold two other stellar donated vehicles at this year’s auction including a 2000 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide motorcycle (the FIFTH donation from a generous NH family) and a 2016 Subaru Forester. All the proceeds from these sales benefit Good News Garage programs and supply funds necessar
y for us to provide reliable transportation to families in need. You can read more about the MGB's new home here
. We wish the new owners many happy adventures in this beloved car!
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hemmings and to everyone who donated their time, parts or services to make the Project Car with a Heart a reality and to Owls Head Transportation Museum for their ongoing support showcasing and shepherding the MGB through its sale. A special “thank you” from the entire Good News Garage family to David LaChance, editor of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car, who embraced this project whole heartedly and made it come alive through his many articles and blog posts. In recognition of their ongoing and dedicated support as a community business partner, Good News Garage was pleased to recognize Hemmings with an Extra Mile Award at our 20th birthday event.
