Longer version (for newsletters)

Good News Garage, an affiliate of Lutheran Social Services of New England, is an innovative program working to improve lives and inspire hope. GNG was the first program in the nation to provide low-income families and individuals with safe and reliable cars to enable them to access jobs and other economic opportunities. Recipients use the vehicles to get to jobs and ultimately leave state assistance rolls and become financially self-sufficient. It is a fantastic program that has improved the lives of hundreds of families. To learn more visit www.goodnewsgarage.org. To continue its mission, Good News Garage needs your help. There are several ways to get involved:
  • Donate your car rather than selling or trading it in. You'll be helping a family in need and may be eligible for a tax deduction.
  • Volunteer your time. Good News Garage is always seeking volunteers to assist in the program. We need persons to help pickup donated vehicles, "Ambassadors" willing to spread the GNG name by giving talks and representing us at area churches and civic groups, persons interested in doing light car detailing, clerical opportunities in the GNG office and more.
  • Make a charitable contribution. Your donation will be used to help off-set the cost of repairing donated vehicles prior to giving them to program recipients.

To learn more about volunteer opportunities, contact your local Good News Garage office. To donate call toll-free 1-877-GIVE-AUTO or donate online at www.goodnewsgarage.org.
