“Donate a van…Help families GO!”

Good News Garage's Ready To Go program is a vanpool service using donated vans to transport individuals and families to essential life activities, including work, daycare and education at no cost to the rider. The program began in Vermont in 2000 and recently expanded into Massachusetts with the launch of a pilot program  in Worcester. In Vermont, Ready To Go schedules over 30,000 rides each year!

"Before Ready To Go, I felt very vulnerable. I’m a single mother with two kids. Walking from daycare to the bus stop with my children – and then waiting there, sometimes for 30 minutes, especially in the winter when it’s dark and cold – wasn’t safe and it wasn’t good for our health. Ready To Go is amazing!" – Marielle S., Ready To Go client

With the growth of our Ready To Go program, the need for donated vans is greater than ever.

The typical Ready To Go van is a 12-year-old, seven-passenger minivan with approximately 140,000 miles. To keep clients on the road towards self-sufficiency, it is crucial to have vans standing by to put into service when a van breaks down. Many of our neighbors depend on Ready To Go to take them to important places every day. Without this service, they would not be able to move forward with their lives.

After faithfully serving a family or two, a donated van can enjoy a new life serving an entire community of families. Please consider donating your old or unused van to help us continue serving our Ready To Go clients.
